Note Date Change!!!

Please note the new date for the event: August 29-30.

Location

The tournament will be held at the Crystal Inn at 3300 N Ouray St., Aurora, CO. (303) 340-3800.

Rooms are $79.99 per night using group code scrab2. Our room block and group price are guaranteed only until August 1.

Format

14 rounds

The top seven players from the U.S. play the top seven players from Canada in a team challenge. The format is traditionally a double round robin. Each player plays each player from the opposing team twice. The team with the most wins will be declared the winner.

As is customary at the CanAm, all games will be recorded.

Qualifying

John Chew is administering the qualification system. Details for qualifying can be found at http://www.scrabbleassociation.com/tourneys/2009/canam/.

If you qualify, please contact John Chew to tell him if you plan on playing or not. If you are near the top of the qualifying list please decide by the end of May so that others can be contacted well ahead of the tournament to fill empty qualifying spaces.

All players must be members of NASPA to play in the tournament.

Entry fee

An entry fee will be collected at the door only to cover expenses. It will probably be between $7 and $20.

Notes

It's a good idea to read through the NSA tournament rules before any tournament.

Please bring whatever equipment (board, clock, tiles, racks) you have and your favorite scoresheets.
